Training Goals

After completing the training, the participant knows the different operation areas of Kaba terminals.The participant is able to connect actual series terminals, address and update them and set the basic parameters via communication software B-COMM. The participant has learned different methods for troubleshooting and understands the operations and functions.

  • Installation and wiring guidelines
  • Setup of Ethernet / using service mode / FTP / remote SFTP / service interface
  • Terminal connection (serial / LAN)- Basics and operation of terminals
  • Mode of operation of the terminals
  • Addressing
  • Information to BPA/p protocol and sub party line
  • Information to Kaba biometric fingerprint
  • Firmware update and variants
  • General data record structure
  • Basic parameterization using communications software B-COMM editor (PEC)
  • Validation of terminals
  • Debug files, support functions, and troubleshooting
  • Practical exercises

Requirements

  • Technical basic knowledge of network technology, basic knowledge of EAD product portfolio
  • Participation in “Start-up Training: EAD product portfolio”
  • Participation in “Technical Basic Training: B-COMM Basic Knowledge”
  • Participation in “Technical Advanced Training: B-COMM for the advanced stage” is recommended
